Located on the beachfront in Playa del Carmen, this resort offers 5 outdoor pools, entertainment team, yoga classes and massages. Mahekal Beach Resort offers spacious, air-conditioned rooms with Mayan-style décor. The peaceful rooms do not include radios or TVs but do offer telephone services and WiFi. All rooms offer a private safe box, private bathroom with a hairdryer and have a terrace with hammocks and views of the sea or tropical gardens. A daily breakfast and à la carte lunch and dinner are available in the Olas Restaurant. Fuego Restaurant serves four-course set dinners, and offers regular theme nights and live music. The resort is located in a very popular area of Playa del Carmen, just a few minutes' walk from lively 5th Avenue. The on-site concierge can arrange visits to the Mayan ruins of Tulum National Park, a 45-minute drive away.

- What did you like most?Food quality in restaurants are very good. Staff are nice and helpful.
- Was there anything you didn't like?Very noisy from beach techno parties. Can not sleep. Changed 3 rooms for one week. Mattresses are not comfortable at all. Old style, with depended springs. Rooms and bathrooms are not spacious. No TV.

- Was there anything you didn't like?Our first room was extremely noisy and we didn’t sleep the whole night. The second room was okay, but there were much nicer rooms available and we seemed to get the worst room of the hotel. Also, when it rained we were getting dripped on in the middle of the night. There were not many activities for kids, even though it’s recommended for kids. I would not stay here again. There are much nicer hotels available for the same price with many more restaurants and activities. Way too expensive for what you get.
