Hotel Roemer is a boutique hotel located in 2 historic 18th-century mansions in a quiet street, only 1312 feet from Leidseplein in the heart of Amsterdam. It includes a private garden and rooms with a Nespresso coffee machine and flat-screen TV. Vondelpark is 656 feet from the hotel. Tram stop Stadhouderskade is less than a 5-minute walk away and provides easy access to Amsterdam Central Station. The Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, on Museum Square, can be reached in less than a 10-minute walk. The fashionable P.C. Hooftstraat is 1148 feet away. Disappointing and unacceptable
- What did you like most?The location was good.
- Was there anything you didn't like?We booked a Junior Suite and were very disappointed with the experience. The minibar was completely empty, and the fridge did not even contain a single bottle of water. There was no bath mat in the bathroom, and the room did not provide bathrobes or slippers either — amenities that are normally expected in a 4-star hotel, especially in a suite. When we went to reception to ask for water, we were given two bottles but were not informed that we would be charged for them. At checkout, we were told to pay for the water, which was surprising since nobody had mentioned this beforehand. On the morning of departure, we received three phone calls shortly after 11:00 AM asking us to leave the room. Although it was just past checkout time, the tone used by the receptionist was rude and ironic. When we politely explained that we had not been told about the water charges, the receptionist again responded with attitude. Overall, the service was poor, the staff lacked professionalism and basic courtesy, and the experience was far below what we expected from a 4-star hotel. Very disappointing.
